Successful applicants will then receive a confirmation email containing the access link required to participate in all classes throughout the training programme.

3. Single Email Address is Required
Participants should note that only one valid email address is required and must be used throughout the training. This email will enable the Committee to properly maintain participants’ records, track scores, issue participation statements, and process certifications. Multiple registrations are NOT allowed.

4. Usage of Learning Platform
Upon acceptance into the training, participants will receive an acceptance email containing the links to access  learning platform.

Participants are encouraged to download the learning materials (.pdf) for each stage and study them thoroughly (i.e. STEP 1). In view of this, the  participants will respond to Learning Material Access & Completion Check (i.e. STEP 2). This will enable the Nigerian Young Academy to know whether you have downloaded and carefully read the learning material for the stage.

Please note that we adopt a flipped classroom approach; as such, participants are encouraged to read the material before progressing to the next stage—Study, Learn, and Grow. In order words, once you respond to Learning Material Access & Completion Check, you will see a link to copy and open it in your browser to listen to our discussion on the learning material content.
  • Click the Study, Learn, & Grow button to carefully review and study the learning material for the stage. Listen to the teaching by our Professional Expert with an open mindset.
  • Click the Reflective Reading button to ask “why” and “how” questions that will help you interrogate the case study, connect the content to real-life experiences, and deepen your understanding of purpose-driven leadership and mentoring.
  • Click the Learn to Teach button to provide a voice note on two subtopics of your choice.
  • Finally, click the “Ready for Exam” button to take the certification examination.
You will be deemed to have completed a level only after downloading the learning material, successfully completing (a) Learning Material Access & Completion Check, (b) Reflective Reading, (c) Learn to Teach, and (d) Ready for Exam, and scoring above 70%.
5. Note on Learn to Teach or Teach Someone Else (Feynman Technique)
Participants are required to apply the Feynman Technique by teaching the content to another person or to an imaginary audience. This approach enhances conceptual clarity and enables participants to detect and correct gaps in their understanding.

Kindly ensure that the voice note for your Learn to teach for each of the subtopics is saved in this format: “Your Name_Subtopic No_Level No”, for example, Akinsanya Isreal Tunde_Subtopic 1_Stage 11.

Here are three clear, practical tips to help participants give their best response:
a) Teach in simple language, not complex terms
Explain the concept as if you are teaching a beginner. Avoid jargon and focus on clarity. If you can explain it simply, it shows true understanding.
b) Structure your teaching logically
Start with the definition, move to explanation, then give an example or application. This flow makes your teaching easy to follow and demonstrates mastery.
c) Prepare and label your voice note correctly
Practice briefly before recording to ensure confidence and fluency. Save your file exactly in the required format: Your Name_Subtopic No_Level No to avoid disqualification or confusion.

6. Note on Reflective Reading
To enhance understanding and retention, participants are encouraged to use active, structured learning strategies rather than passive note review, engaging deeply with the material and linking it to prior knowledge.

7. Training Categories & Official Letters
The training is structured into four categories:
  • Leadership Awareness & Values (Preamble and Level 0)
  • Holistic Leadership Development Framework (Level 1 – 5)
  • Advanced Leadership and Mentoring Mastery (Level 6 – 10)
  • Transformative Adaptive Leadership Legacy (Level 11 – 15)
Participants will receive an official letter (i.e. To Whom it May Concern) upon the successful completion of each level.

8. Certification

At the next General Assembly of the Nigerian Young Academy, Certificates of Completion will be awarded only to participants who successfully complete all stages of the program.

9. Q & A Discussion
Explore a comprehensive set of practice questions and detailed answers designed to evaluate core cognitive abilities. The assessment centers on a single overarching theory question with five targeted sub-questions, each rigorously constructed to test a specific domain of learning:
a) Higher-Order Thinking: Pushing beyond basic recall to stimulate critical thinking and the creation of new knowledge.
b) Analytical Reasoning: Testing the ability to dissect complex information and identify underlying patterns or relationships.
c) Conceptual Mastery: Evaluating deep understanding and the ability to explain theories in one's own words.
d) Diagnostic Reasoning: Assessing the cognitive patterns required to link evidence to claims and identify specific outcomes.
e) Cognitive Challenge: Engaging executive functioning and sophisticated intellectual skills to solve multi-layered problems.
